Add the necessary package files as custom extension content in your source.extension.vsixmanifest file. The quick fix I used was to just copy all directories in whatever template folder it was complaining about and add a .zip to the end. But I think I got it working this way: Locate MonoGame templates folder, copy and unzip WindowsUniversal.zip to a suitable folder, open this folder and edit WindowsUniversal.vstemplate and delete everything between both debug and release.
