Why couldn't MS or Dell have done that!! I don't use the keyboard "pointing stick", and I've never even had a mouse attached to this. Tried some suggestions to get rid of Pen and Touch and tried one that didn't work for some, but did work for me. So here is the issue with this "you know you did not touch the pad while typing", that software disables the touchpad while you type. No more dirty mouse balls (and the jokes that go with them).

Then found a freeware application called TouchFreeze ( http://code.google.com/p/touchfreeze/ ) It is the ONLY solution that worked for me. I was having all sorts of problems with it.
